Recent News

So, here's a couple things that have been going on in the past couple of weeks: new classes have begun, so the second half of this experience has also officially arrived. I'm signed up this semester for two core classes (our program only), and two regular courses at UAB- "Aesthetic of the Image" and "Audiovisual Animation". Animation should be pretty fun because we'll be working on a short stop-motion animation project that counts as our final.

In other news, I recently acquired "Bicing"- Barcelona's public bike-share system that has stations covering all of the downtown area. Its rather easy, and very fun. You simply purchase the card for 24 euros a year- take the card and swipe it at the station. The monitor reads what number bike to collect, and sure enough, that numbered bike is waiting unlocked. When finished with the bike, you simply look for an open spot with a solid green light next to it, place the bike in the lock holes, and wait until the light turns red. Presto- cheap, outdoor transportation that's fun. Go Bicing! Here's a little video of one of my first adventures:

Also...Karli got me tickets to an FC Barcelona soccer match this past week. It was, to say the least, an awesome night. We got to see Messi, Ronaldinho, Eto'o, Xavi- some of the best players in the world. We had pretty good seats, behind the goal that Barca shot on during the second half. Also, we wore our matching Barca scarfs! We beat Levante 5-1, Eto'o had a hat trick, Xavi scored, and Messi had a sweet goal and two assists to Eto'o (when Eto'o scored his final goal, he grabbed a photographers camera and started taking pictures of his teammates celebrating).
